Dr Nick Screaton was appointed as Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist in Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge in 2001. His subspecialty interests include pulmonary hypertension, interstitial and airways disease as well as lung cancer screening.
Nick has diverse research interests with over 100 peer reviewed scientific papers and presents widely at national and international meetings. He has been Senior Editor for the British Journal of Radiology and Advisory Editor for Clinical Radiology since 2014. He has an interest in clinical guideline development and has contributed to several BTS guidelines, RCR MBUR, as well as serving terms as standing member of the NICE guidelines updates and NICE Quality Standards Advisory committees.
He was President of the British Society of Thoracic Imaging 2009-13, has contributed to Royal College of Radiologist Faculty Board Member 2015-19 and Council Member 2019-22 and to the European Society of Thoracic Imaging as Council member since 2017 and more recently as Secretary since 2022. He was Vice President (Publishing) for the British Institute of Radiology 2016-22 and is current BIR President Elect.
