BIR London branch

About the London branch

We are delighted to announce the launch of a brand new regional branch in London. It is chaired by Dr Amanda Isaac, a Consultant Radiologist based at St Thomas' Hospital.

Branch chair - Dr Amanda Isaac

Amanda Isaac PhotoDr Amanda Isaac is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Isaac has numerous peer reviewed radiological publications and as a senior clinical lecturer at King's College,  London speaks regularly at national and international conferences. She is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. In addition, she has a particular interest in developing  guidelines and streamlining patient pathways, reinforced by translational research and healthcare economics. Her experience includes development of advanced practitioner roles in the NHS, contributing to European consensus research, as well as being appointed as the radiology panel expert for NICE guidelines on rheumatoid arthritis.

The London branch aims to bring together like-minded BIR members (radiologists, radiographers, physicists and trainees) who are passionate about radiology and strive for excellence. We meet regularly to gain knowledge and develop evidence to optimise patient care across all modalities of radiology.

About the area

The region covers the Greater London area and the committee organises two CPD accredited events a year. When you join the BIR you will automatically be allocated to your nearest region and receive updates about your local events.
