The Council is the governing body of the Institute. It comprises of up to 12 trustees, who are members of the Institute and are appointed to Council for up to three years. Council meets a minimum of four times a year.
The BIR’s Council have four trustee vacancies for the session starting 1 October 2024. Terms of service on Council are 3 years:
- Vice President for Education
- 2 X Ordinary Trustees
