BIR /Bayer  Artificial Intelligence Fellowship

We are delighted to announce this exciting new opportunity for one early career professional to spend one week with the sponsoring company, Bayer, gaining insight into the culture of a healthcare AI organisation, potentially exploring a new career pathway, and enhancing their CV.  

About the Fellowship

This scheme is for an early-career professional (trainee radiologist, consultant radiologist, medical physicist, radiographer or other professional) within three years of qualifying, to spend one week with Bayer. Applicants must be UK based.

The successful candidate – what’s involved?

The successful candidate will spend five consecutive working days with the sponsoring company, shadowing key clinicians and scientists. They will gain an understanding of the development process and implementation. The experience may include attendance at headquarter offices, external events/conferences, shadowing the sales and scientific team as well as attending online events and one-to-one meetings.

The successful candidate will then be invited to present their experience, findings and ideas at a relevant BIR event or via a webinar.

Bayer will fund accommodation and travel for the successful candidate.

Bayer will work with the successful candidate to establish the timing for the placement, however applicants should be available to spend one working week with Bayer between 15 June 2024 – 31 December 2024. 

Bayer will administer the scheme, including issuing an agreement with the candidate for the placement.

This fellowship is sponsored by Bayer.  Bayer will have no involvement in the selection of the Fellow.  

This is a pilot in 2024, with the potential to be extended to other companies in the future.
