MR Safety Risk Assessments
The 2025 updated MRI fire risk assessment makes changes to the description of the quench control wiring. Specifically, the quench control wiring is considered a part of the medical equipment, and therefore the reference to designing the wiring to BS7671 is not applicable. Instead, if the supplied wiring is not of a sufficient fire protection rating, then additional fire protection could be provided by the use of an enclosed raceway.
