The Rising Incidence of Cancer in Women

Since the 1990s, significant increases have been seen in breast, ovarian and endometrial cancers in younger age groups, while cervical cancer rates are expected to decline due to HPV vaccination and screening. Although some of the rise may be linked to known risk factors such as obesity and genetic syndromes, other contributing factors remain unclear. The BIR Women's Health event in London in May will bring together experts in imaging, gynaecology and genetics to address diagnosis, epidemiology, disparities in outcomes, and challenges such as cancer in pregnancy, with a focus on improving awareness and access to care.
