BIR Team

    Chief Executive's Office

Sara Purdy  – Chief Executive 

Sara is responsible for the management of the organisation. She works with Trustees and others to help develop the strategy, and with the BIR's in house team, branch and SIG management groups, Editorial teams, event organisers and volunteers to serve BIR members and the wider imaging and oncology community.

Lucy Stewart –    Executive Assistant/Office Manager

Lucy provides administrative support to the Chief Executive, President, Council and the various scientific and management committees of the BIR.  She administers the various prizes and awards offered by the Institute. Lucy is also the Office Manager.

Finance

Magda Howlett – Director of Finance and Operations  

Magda is responsible for all financial, ICT, property management, insurance and contractual management issues for the organisation.

Kimberly Charles Vital - Finance  and Administration Assistant

Kimberly is responsible for all finance and office related queries, respond to queries, assisting with accounting and reconciliation tasks, credit control; as well as administrative support across the key functions of the BIR: membership, education and publishing.

Communications and Membership

Jane Moynihan -  Director of Membership and Systems

Jane has responsibity for strategic development and operational management of BIR individual membership and engagement, the CRM roadmap and data strategy.

Jineta Trivedi - Communications Manager

Jineta works closely with all BIR teams to lead the communications and PR strategy for the Institute, taking responsibility for developing and implementing communications initiatives and promoting the Institute’s products and services in line with the BIR’s five-year strategy.  

Jayne  Bravery - Partnerships Manager

Jayne is responsible for developing long and fruitful relationships with our corporate members, and ultimately ensuring strong growth in the number of partners we work with, and associated revenue.  Jayne also leads on external engagement with our World Partner Network societies, sister societies and other organisations.

Katie Paraboo  - Membership  Engagement Coordinator

Katie is responsible for membership engagement and recruitment, keeping our members aware of activities and services through various channels. Katie supports our members in maximising use of BIR platforms and content they have access to. Katie often attends BIR events and external conferences as a BIR representative and is part of the e-newsletter and social media teams.

Julie  - Membership  Coordinator

Julie is responsible for maintaining an accurate membership database, customer service, engaging with our members effectively, keeping our members aware of activities and services through our enewsletter and website. 

Education

Nicky Blair - Director of Education

Nicky is responsible for the development, management, delivery and promotion of the BIR’s educational programmes, both online and in-person. She works with closely with Trustees and others to help develop the strategy, and with the BIR's in house team, branch and SIG management groups, event organisers, organising committees and volunteers to serve BIR members and the wider imaging and oncology community.

Jenny  Griffiths - Events Manager

Jenny ensure the effective planning, marketing and delivery of the BIR’s educational events. They work with committees and regional branches to devise educational events that meet current needs of medical and scientific professionals working in the subject area.

Georgia Nicholls   - Events Coordinator

Aaliah  Brito - Events Coordinator

Diana Puitel - Events Coordinator (currently on maternity leave)

Georgia, Aaliah and Diana are the main contacts for all incoming queries concerning BIR educational events across the UK. They work alongside the Events Manager in the planning, marketing and delivery of the year’s educational programme and Annual Congress. 

Zoe Sutherland-Rowe -  Marketing and Events Officer

Zoe assists the Events team in the promotion, marketing and administration of educational events. Zoe manages the social media and marketing for learning events, and lead and contribute to promotional campaigns and website management.

Chike  Dunkwu -  eLearning Manager

Chike focuses on development and use of new learning technologies to support the educational mission of the BIR. He oversees the technical infrastructures of all BIR e-learning offerings, manages various e-learning platforms and contents, and leads on the Instructional Design of the BIR video course.

Daniel Blanchard - Video/Digital Producer

Daniel is responsible for assisting the Education team in the development and management of effective digital learning content, which includes webinars, virtual events, recorded lectures videos, live streaming and BIR video course. It covers filming, editing and post-production of video and audio content.   

Publishing

Tami  Potten – Co-Head of Publishing (Journals)

Tami and Miranda are jointly responsible for the strategic development of the BIR journal portfolio and managing the publishing department at the BIR. Tami is also responsible for managing journal operations and Editorial Boards, ensuring the BIR continues to publish high quality, relevant content in a rapid manner.

Miranda Ashby-Wood – Co-Head of Publishing (Development)

Miranda and Tami are jointly responsible for the strategic development of the BIR journal portfolio and managing the publishing department at the BIR. Miranda is also responsible for the commissioning and development of BIR video courses and content within the BIR journal portfolio, working with members of the community to deliver relevant and high quality material.

Maryam Miah -  Editorial Administrator

Maryam is responsible for monitoring the progression of manuscripts through peer review for BIR journals, as well as handling all author, reviewer and editor queries and ensuring a smooth peer review process for all. Maryam is also responsible for sending communications to Editorial Boards and other relevant individuals, helping with administrative tasks for the publishing department, and managing journal social media accounts.
