Ultrasound professionals launch manifesto to reduce patient waiting times for diagnosis and treatment

AXREM, the British Institute of Radiology (BIR), the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS), the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), and the Society of Radiographers (SoR) have formed a collaborative working group representing clinical, scientific, educational and industry expertise. This manifesto sets out shared priorities, identifies barriers to safe and sustainable ultrasound delivery, and defines coordinated actions needed to ensure high‑quality, equitable ultrasound services—now and for the future.

British Institute of Radiology announces new BJR Editor-in-Chief (Medical)

We are delighted to announce Professor Stuart Taylor as the new Editor-in-Chief (Medical) of BJR from 1 January 2025. Stuart is Professor of Medical Imaging at the Centre for Medical Imaging, University College London in the UK. He is taking over the role from Dr Simon Jackson, who held the role for the past eight years and served on the Editorial Board for over 14 years.
