BIR President - Dr Nicholas Screaton
Dr Nick Screaton has been a Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist at Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, since 2001 with subspecialty interests including pulmonary hypertension, interstitial and airways disease and lung cancer screening.
Nick has an interest in clinical guideline development and has contributed to several BTS guidelines, including RCR MBUR. He has served terms as standing member of the NICE guidelines’ updates and NICE Quality Standards Advisory committees. He was President of the British Society of Thoracic Imaging between 2009-2013, Royal College of Radiologist Faculty Board Member between 2015-2019 and RCR Council Member from 2019 to 2022.
Nick has been a council member of the European Society of Thoracic Imaging since 2017 and became Secretary in 2022. He was Vice President (Publishing) for the British Institute of Radiology from 2016 to 2022.
