Nikki Blackler is based at the Radiotherapy Physics Department at University Hospitals Trust Plymouth Trust, where she has worked as Head of Radiotherapy Treatment Planning for 20 years. Increasing interest in Professional issues lead to her becoming involved with the BIR as a member of the Radiotherapy Special interest group, where she has undertaken several committee roles until becoming Chair for the Oncology & Radiotherapy SIG between 2016 - 2019. After stepping down from Chair, she has continued to be actively involved in the SIG, focusing on the educational meetings and promoting the professional role of the Clinical Dosimetrist. As part of the BIR Council, she would like to actively promote the BIR as a Multi-professional body for all professions working in radiotherapy pathway and continue to engage and promote the dosimetrist role.
