In memory of Dr Jean Guy

Friends and colleagues of BIR member Dr Jean Guy, who died in February 2012, may be interested in a series of lectures being held in her name.

Dr Guy, who volunteered in the BIR library at Portland Place, was a consultant radiologist and clinical tutor in Yeovil District Hospital for many years, later moving to Bury St Edmunds. She was also a founder member of what became the British Society for the History of Radiology.

The first of the lectures, on the subject of Christian faith and standards, will be given at 7pm on Monday 9 September at the Guildhall, Lavenham, by the Reverend Jeremy Caddick, Dean of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and will be on the subject of medical ethics, with particular reference to assisted dying.

Refreshments will be served. There is no charge, but donations will be welcomed. Advance booking is essential: please call Tim Rose on 01787 248278 or e-mail tcrose@btinternet.com.
