Toshiba

The BIR is delighted to announce that nominations are invited for the Toshiba Mayneord Memorial Lecture.

This award is in the form of an eponymous lecture, to be given at the UKRC in June 2014.

The award will be made to an individual or a group of collaborators in recognition of recent or current contributions in the field of radiology. The topic for the lecture must cover innovative technologies associated with image acquisition/processing or display which affect clinical diagnosis and the management of patient care.

Nominees are asked to provide information on the subject of their lecture as the winning lecture will need to fit in with the conference theme of UKRC 2014 as much as possible.

This lecture, founded in 1984, is in memory of Professor V M Mayneord, CBE, FRS, and past president and honorary member of the BIR.

The BIR is proud to partner with Toshiba to support this award. Mark Hitchman, Managing Director, Toshiba Medical Systems: “Toshiba are delighted to partner with the BIR to fund this award which recognises and values skills and contributions at the forefront of science, this is very much in line with our commitment to education.”

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2014 lecture and award. Please send your 500 word citation stating why you feel your nominee should receive this award to Lucy Stewart, Committee Secretary (awards@bir.org.uk). Deadline for nominations: 30th August 2013
