Carestream gets out in the cold

Charlie McCaffrey

“The Coldest Journey” is a polar challenge led by a team of explorers to conquer the last great polar challenge: crossing Antarctica. Carestream, a BIR corporate subscriber, is supporting the project by donating a DRX Transportable System.

The venture hopes to raise $10m for Seeing is Believing, a charity for people with eyesight problems in low-income countries.

The "Wee Bit Chilly Journey"

BIR Trustee, Charlie McCaffrey, from Carestream, has been inspired by “The Coldest Journey” and together with four colleagues will attempt the “Wee Bit Chilly Journey”, cycling across the UK. The five will cycle from coast to coast from Hull to Liverpool (178 miles) from 7 to 9 June, finishing at the Arena and Convention Centre, Albert Dock, Liverpool, just in time for the UK Radiology Conference, which takes place on 10–12 June.

Carestream is recognising companies who have supported the venture by having their logo included on the team shirts. If you would like to make a donation to support the five intrepid cyclists, donations can be made through http://www.justgiving.com/Wee-Bit-Chilly-Journey
