New team take charge of BJR

Simon JacksonWe are delighted to welcome Dr Simon Jackson as the new Editor-in-Chief (Medical) for BJR. He joins Professor Kevin Prise, Editor-in-Chief (Scientific) to further contribute to the development of the journal as a key resource for the radiological scientific community.

Dr Jackson is an experienced editor who has been a BJR Senior Editor since 2010. He has also completed a number of years as an Associate Editor and reviewer for the journal. Working for the past 18 years as a consultant radiologist at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, he specialises in both diagnostic and interventional gastrointestinal (GI) radiology including endoscopy. His research interests are focused on multimodality imaging applications in GI oncology and he lectures widely on aspects of hepatopancreaticobiliary and GI tract radiology.

Professor Prise is based at Queen’s University Belfast, in the Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology within the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, working on translational radiobiology research. His has varied research interests covering radiation risk, the application of novel radiation modalities, advanced radiotherapy models and drug radiation combinations.

We would also like thank the outgoing BJR Editor-in-Chief (Medical) Dr Nigel Hoggard for his dedication and guidance to the journal during his tenure, and wish him every success in his future endeavours.
