We are pleased to share a guidance document for Nuclear Medicine departments on how to complete a Safety Assessment as part of the application for, or upgrade to, HSE consent for the Administration of Radioactive Materials to Patients. This document has been developed by Jo Page and Peter Marsden, Nuclear Medicine Department, Royal Free Hospital, with the agreement of HSE.
The guidance has been designed to help departments decide on a sufficient level of detail to include without undue drain on the resources of clinical staff and, consequently, the regulator. The HSE have provided comments and additional information to the guidance throughout its development and have agreed to our distribution of this version to relevant Professional Bodies.
