Simon recently retired as Vice President for Education. Simon is also the current Editor-in-Chief (Medical) of BJR, a position he has held for eight years and has served as both an Associate and Senior Editor during the 14 years he has served on BJR’s Editorial Board.
Simon said "For me, it has been an absolute privilege to be actively involved with the BIR over many years and I am immensely honoured to receive this medal. I thank the BIR to have been given the opportunity to help develop our educational and publishing content which reflects our vision and commitment to enhance multi professional excellence.”
Stephen commented, “I was delighted to present the DSM to Dr Simon Jackson this year. Simon became Vice President for Education in 2020, and supported the Institute’s educational programme through the Covid-19 pandemic and its immediate aftermath, staying on for another year to provide continuity in a period of significant change. He has also been Medical Editor-in-Chief of the BJR for the past eight years. He is a very deserving recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal.”
