Radiology and Oncology Congresses and The Royal College of Radiologists join forces to deliver major new conference and exhibition

Radiology and Oncology Congresses (ROC) is the organisation behind the UKRC and UKRO congresses. The current members of ROC are the British Institute of Radiology (BIR), the College of Radiographers (CoR) and the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM).  The Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) currently runs its own annual educational meeting.

ROC and the RCR are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement for the RCR to join ROC as a full member. The expanded ROC will be responsible for planning and staging a single, re‑branded radiology and oncology congress from 2019 onwards.

Dr Nicola Strickland, President of the RCR, said, ‘The RCR is looking forward to working with the partner societies in ROC.  We will be able to build on the best of both our annual educational meeting and ROC’s congresses to develop a single multidisciplinary congress that meets the requirements and expectations of the 21st century delegate’.

ROC Chair, Gunter Dombrowe, said,‘This development has arisen at an opportune time when ROC has already been working on the development of a bigger, better and wider congress of the highest educational standard, with the potential to appeal beyond the UK and traditional target groups.  We are delighted that the RCR will now be joining this effort and contribute its own valuable expertise and skills'.

For 2017 and 2018, the present arrangements for UKRC/RO and the RCR's annual educational meeting will remain unchanged.
