Gunter Dombrowe was President of the BIR for the period 2004-2006. He is a fellow of the the BIR and in 2018 was awarded the DSM (Distinguished Service Medal) in recognition of his continued support and commitment to the BIR.
Gunter was Managing Director of Siemens Healthcare for the UK and Northern Europe for many years, retiring from the role in 2012. He was also President of Radiology and Oncology Congresses, otherwise known as ROC, the charity that oversees the UK’s largest annual imaging and oncology meeting, retiring from this role in 2018. Over the years he has continuted to demonstrate his commitment to the radiology and radiation oncology community and, in particular, his support for the BIR and multildisciplinary education.
