Peter Sharpe

Mr Peter Shape was the BIR president from 2001-2003. He qualified as a diagnostic radiographer and worked in Stockport and Cambridge before specialising in MRI in 1986, setting up a charitable MRI facility in Somerset.  Since then he has held senior management and board positions within the NHS and with international healthcare providers.

Peter has a keen interest in education; he is the past chairman of the Radiology and Oncology Congresses (ROC) Board, the organisers of UKRC and UKRO. 

He has been the Chief Executive of the medical charity Cobalt who provide state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging to the NHS, provide international training for healthcare professionals and fund and participate in research.
