Following the success of last year’s inaugural charity of the year initiative which saw AXREM and members present at cheque to Alzheimer’s Research UK for over £3500, AXREM are pleased to announce that the charity of the Year for 2025 is Action for Children who protect and support children and young people, providing practical and emotional care and support, ensuring their voices are heard, and are campaigning to bring lasting improvements to their lives.
Action for Children’s mission is to create Safe and happy childhoods. The Impact of Actions for Children’s work is that 687,755 children, young people and families have been helped, they offer 372 services across the UK offering practical and caring support and have been established for 155 years helping vulnerable children, young people and families.
Katherine Woods, Director of Fundraising at Action for Children said:“We are so grateful to AXREM for choosing to work with Action for Children. Based on shared values and ambitions, our partnership will ensure we can provide more practical and emotional support to children and families across the UK. Together, we will ensure that more vulnerable children have the safe and happy childhoods they deserve.”
This fundraising is a great way of AXREM and the associations members giving something back, with many companies already doing their own fundraising for various charities. AXREM will once again be making a cash donation to the charity and will be having a collection at the association social event at UKIO in Liverpool in June as well as other fundraising initiatives which the team are currently working on.
Furthermore, AXREM will also be supporting some of Action for Children’s campaigns and other activities throughout 2025.
Sally Edgington, AXREM Chief Executive Officer said “Following last year’s success I am really pleased our Executive Committee have selected another worthwhile charity and I am looking forward to seeing how we can develop our relationship and activities with Action for Children and hopefully exceeding last years amount.”
The hope is that in December we will welcome representatives from Action for Children to AXREM to formerly present a cheque.
