1920s radiography

 The Society of Radiographers

The Society of Radiographers was affiliated to the BIR in 1928 and their March Meeting was described in the BJR (BJR 1928;1(4): 139-139).

Leslie Branch (Branch BJR 1928;1(4): 140-143) gave a most interesting talk on “Pitfalls of the Dark Room” which is an invaluable account of conventional “wet film” processing. This is a world away from our modern PACS with the absence of films and processing. It was a major physical effort to produce radiographic images until modern times.  Considerable technical skills were needed in conventional manual photographic processing in these days before automatic film processing.
