The British Institute of Radiology is soon to launch a new Midlands regional branch committee which will provide educational and networking opportunities for everyone working in the radiological professions in the East and West Midlands.
Health professionals are invited to apply for the voluntary post of Chair for this new regional branch who will lead a group of multi-disciplinary members from radiology, radiography, medical physics and industry who have expressed an interest in playing a key role within the region.
Professor Andrew Jones, President, said “We are delighted to see our regional branches expand. We have listened to our members who have asked for more relevant, targeted educational events held locally, which avoids lengthy time off site. It also gives participants the opportunity to network with colleagues in the locality.”
“We hope the Midlands branch will follow the tremendous success and popularity of our East of England branch which has held six events for over 380 participants in the last three years,” he added.
The Midlands branch chair will be fully supported by the BIR core staff.The successful applicant will have expertise, creativity and a desire to make a difference in the world of radiology, radiography and radiotherapy.
All professional groups (including radiologists, physicists, trainees, radiographers, managers, radiology nurses, clinical oncologists, dosimetrists and individuals from industry (with appropriate interests) are welcome to apply.
BIR members and non-members are invited to apply, although non-members will be required to subscribe as a full member before being able to participate.
