Do you want to influence the direction of research for public health?

The National Institute for Health Research are looking for experienced senior public health decision makers to help them identify and commission new research addressing questions that matter most to the public and voluntary services.

The NIHR Public Health Research Programme funds research to evaluate any non-NHS intervention with the potential to improve the health of the public and reduce inequalities in health, including interventions in education, the built environment, transport and social care.

They currently have a number of vacancies on their Programme Advisory Board (PAB). The role of the board is to provide high-level strategic advice on what research is needed and to help identify the questions that matter most to the public, community and voluntary services.  Membership of the board offers the opportunity to contribute to, and influence, the direction of public health research.

They would particularly welcome applications from individuals working for charities, the third sector and health protection, from across the UK.

Visit the current opportunities page for further information on what the role involves and to apply.
