We’re delighted to announce the winners of our first BIR/Bayer Make it Better Service Award from Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Dr Elspeth Whitby, Dr Marta Cohen, Dr Amaka Offiah and Dr Ashok Raghavan have been awarded this prestigious prize for their work in establishing the world’s first minimally invasive autopsy service for the foetal and neonatal age group, based on MRI. The group is pictured being presented with the £1000 prize and plaque by Dr David Wilson and Ute Kallenbach and Zoe Morton from Bayer Healthcare.
We received a number of really strong applications for this award and the decision was not an easy one to make. Four of these so impressed us that we awarded them highly commended certificates. These went to: Nick Woznitza and team (Homerton University Hospital), Karen Reid and team (Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital), Aileen Flavin and team (Cork University Hospital) and Kath Tyler, the Walton Centre.
