The first issue of BJR|case reports features eight case reports and as part of the BIR|Open initiative, all articles are open access and free for everyone to read.

Beginning with an editorial from Editor-in-Chief, Professor Giuseppe Guglielmi, the issue contains articles covering a range of clinical systems including lung, breast, gastrointestinal and vascular imaging, as well as nuclear medicine and interventional procedures. The full list of articles in the issue is available at www.birpublications.org/bjrcr.

We have received a very positive response since we opened submissions in December 2014 with over 200 articles submitted from 28 different countries. We are looking forward to building on this excellent start to grow the journal into a key educational resource for the radiology community.
