Addendum to Geometric Uncertainties: Geometric Uncertainties in Radiotherapy: Defining the Planning Target VolumeĀ

Volunteers are sought to join a BIR working party to produce an addendum to the above 2003 BIR Report. The addendum will address, within the overall framework of the 2003 report, factors that affect the practical determination of CTV- PTV margins when daily online image guidance and modern intensity modulated treatments are used. The scope will include impacts of residual geometrical errors such as intrafraction motion, uncorrected target rotation, delineation and registration errors amongst others.

The working party will operate from Autumn 2017 to the end of 2018, and will primarily operate through telephone conference, with one or two face-to-face meetings. Volunteers, who should have a demonstrable interest in geometric uncertainties in image-guided radiotherapy, can contact the BIR working party organiser at george.tudor@uhb.nhs.uk.

Closing Date: 8 September 2017.
