UK guidance on the management of personal dosimetry systems

9 October 2017

Read the recent BJR guidelines and recommendations article co-authored by the BIR President, Mr Andy Rogers, on UK guidance on the management of personal dosimetry systems for healthcare staff. In response to concern regarding the management of occupation dose for healthcare radiation workers, the BIR led a working group to develop guidance in this area. The guidance addresses issues of general system management that would apply to all personal dosimetry systems, along with exploring efficient strategies to comply with legislation where those employees work across organisational boundaries. There is also an accompanying Commentary, written solely by Andy Rogers which is available here. This Commentary describes the guidance and discusses the issues involved with developing systems for compliance in this area.
