If you are going to UKIO in Liverpool this year, be sure to attend the BIR/Canon Mayneord lecture which always promises to be a fascinating lecture for radiologists, radiographers and physicists.. This year, Professor Mathias Prokop will be speaking on Monday 10 June 2019 at 12.45pm. His talk is titled “Advanced Computer Analysis in Oncologic Imaging: A Necessity or a Hype?”
Professor Prokop from Radboud University, The Netherlands, is an expert in body imaging with a special focus on multislice CT and new imaging technologies. As one of the first users of the various generations of multislice CT scanners, he is working on new and improved imaging applications, with a special focus on cardiovascular and thoracic imaging.
The BIR Canon Mayneord Memorial Lecture is an annual award made to an individual or a group of collaborators in recognition of recent or current contributions in the wide and expanding field of radiology. The lecture was founded in 1984 in memory of Professor William Valentine Mayneord CBE FRS, past president and honorary member of the BIR.
We are hugely indebted to Canon Medical who have sponsored this award for several years and are committed to providing high quality education for the radiological community.
