Peter Hiles, Chair of the BIR Radiation Safety Special Interest Group (SIG) has received a special BIR “Educational Contributor” award. Peter, who has been Chair of the SIG since 2013, has represented the BIR on a number of working parties, was lead author for the BIR PPE book and the forthcoming guidance for shielding on patients. He has also organised and delivered several successful events including IRR Update and IRMER.
Dr Khalid Ali, Chair of the BIR Scottish branch has also received an award for the best performing branch for their outstanding educational work in the local area. Congratulations to both these BIR Stars!
