Peter Hiles gets top award

Chair of the BIR Radiation Safety SIG, Peter Hiles, has been given a top BIR award for educational contributor across the whole of the BIR. Peter, who is Head of Radiation Physics in North Wales has acted as adviser to the International Atomic Energy Agency and the EU and has represented the BIR on a wide range of working parties. He has been chair of the BIR Radiation Safety SIG since 2013 and has produced a wealth of resources including our popular PPE publication and the forthcoming guidance on shielding for patients. Peter has organised many successful events for the BIR including the IRR update and the annual IRMER event. His leadership and enthusiasm has motivated a very active and dedicated SIG who continue to produce online resources and materials to inspire their colleagues.
