We are delighted to support a campaign launched by AXREM, the trade association representing the suppliers of diagnostic medical imaging, radiotherapy, healthcare IT and care equipment in the UK. Radiotherapy has an essential role in cancer treatment, and with cancer affecting 50% of us within our lifetime, radiotherapy will help 50% of cancer patients treat the disease. The AXREM manifesto makes the case for more awareness for radiotherapy amongst patients and health professionals, increased funding, improved access to services, improved screening processes, revised payment mechanisms and a review of the tariff system, more radiotherapy satellite centres and more funding for IT support systems.
