The British Institute of Radiology (BIR) joins American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) Global Partner Society Programme

On 30 November 2015, at RSNA in Chicago, the BIR became a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) Global Partner Society Program, an initiative which brings together societies in the medical imaging community from across the world.

Dr David Wilson, President of the BIR, and Jonathan Lewin, MD, President of ARRS, signed a memorandum of understanding which identifies ways in which the two organisations can support each other to promote their services and offer new educational and career-enhancing opportunities to their members.

As part of the arrangement, BIR members will benefit from complimentary membership of the ARRS for all trainees, discounted membership rate for full members and free access to an article from the American Journal of Roentgenology each month.

Both organisations agreed on a reciprocal marketing programme to promote each others’ services.

Dr Wilson (President of the BIR) said “We are thrilled to be part of this programme, a scheme which encourages education and the sharing of best practice across the globe. We look forward to working with ARRS in the years to come”.

Jonathan Lewin, MD, (President of ARRS) said “The British Institute of Radiology is an outstanding organization, and the leadership of the ARRS is looking forward to seeing the relationship grow and the members of both organizations benefit from the fruits of our newly-formed partnership”
