Varian Medical Systems joins The British Institute of Radiology

Varian Medical Systems has joined The British Institute of Radiology (BIR) as a corporate member. BIR corporate subscribers are encouraged to join special interest groups, collaborate in developing educational events and get involved with publishing activities.

Since the 1950s Varian has been producing tools that harness the power of X-ray energy to benefit humankind and it has pioneered developments in the fields of radiotherapy, radiosurgery, X-ray tube technology, digital image detectors, cargo screening and non-destructive testing.

Dr David Wilson, President of the BIR, said, “It is a privilege to welcome Varian to the BIR. Varian has a great reputation in the world of medical equipment and cancer care and we look forward to working with the team to enable it to build working relationships with clinicians and customers.”

As the global leader in radiotherapy and radiosurgery, we look forward to working more closely with the BIR,” says Tim Clark, Varian’s marketing director for the EMEIA. “Such collaborations can help Varian to achieve its mission of extending patient access to modern, quality and affordable care.”
