The impact factor forBJR,the flagship journal of the British Institute of Radiology, has risen from 2.196 to 3.039 which represents an increase of 38%. This is its highest ever impact factor ranking in the 125 year old history of the journal, reflecting the high quality of articles research submitted over the last two years.
The ranking forDMFR(the journalDentomaxillofacial Radiology, which is published by the BIR) has also risen from 1.796 to 2.419 – the first time the impact factor has been above 2 (a rise of 35%).
The impact factor is a measure of the average number of citations of articles published in the previous two years.

BJR is the international research journal of the British Institute of Radiology covering all aspects of radiology, radiation oncology, medical physics and the underpinning sciences.
Dentomaxillofacial Radiology is dedicated to the closely related fields of oral radiology and head and neck imaging.
