A scientist by education, Daniel Pounder completed his academic studies at Lincoln College, Oxford, being awarded a Master of Chemistry degree (Upper Second Class). Following a move into commerce, he completed his accountancy training with Deloitte and was admitted as an Associate into the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, subsequently being admitted as a Fellow in 2013. He has been working in senior finance positions for nearly two decades at major international media conglomerates, including Viacom, Sony and Bertelsmann. Presently studying at Bayes Business School, City University, for a MSc in Charity Accounting and Financial Management, he is focusing on supporting charitable organisations with trustee and voluntary positions building on earlier work at music industry member organisations, PRS for Music and MCPS. Dan is also developing a CFO and Director portfolio career supporting small and medium sized enterprises in addition to his voluntary commitments. He is excited to join the BIR, reuniting his early passion for science with a strong belief in education and knowledge sharing, and working with fellow trustees to support the BIR’s mission.
