Fellows will be members of at least five years standing who have rendered service to, or on behalf of, the Institute. Fellows shall be selected by the Council from the nominations received from members from time to time and announced at the Annual General Meeting of the Institute.
Candidates for election as Fellows shall be proposed in writing according to a form approved by the Council by two Members of the Institute, one of whom must have personal knowledge of the candidate. The name of the proposed member shall be read before the Council at their next Meeting after the receipt of the nomination form. If approved by the Council the new Fellows will be announced at the Annual General Meeting.
Fellows of the Institute may use the initials FBIR. No other category of Member of the Institute may use initials after his name to indicate membership; the fact of membership shall not appear in any publication issued for advertising purposes.
