New guidance published from UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) on radiotherapy safety

The two new publications titled 'Advancing Safer Radiotherapy: Guidance for radiotherapy providers on improving patient safety' and 'Safer Radiotherapy: national patient safety radiotherapy event taxonomy are now available online.

George du Boulay's remarkable legacy lives on as the British Institute of Radiology (BIR) takes on the role of hosting and supporting the newly established BIR George du Boulay Pump-Priming Award

The Radiological Research Trust (RRT) has announced that the BIR will now serve as the awarding body for this prestigious accolade, created in honour of Professor George du Boulay.

BIR/Bayer Artificial Intelligence Fellowship Award presented to Dr Ahmed Maiter

Dr Ahmed Maiter was presented with the BIR/Bayer AI Fellowship Award at the BIR AI Annual Congress. This gave him the opportunity to spend a week with Bayer and gain insight into the culture of a healthcare AI organisation. Applications for this years Fellowship are now open!

Outstanding research achievements: Professor Marco Durante receives award from the British Institute of Radiology (BIR)

Professor Marco Durante, Head of the Biophysics Research Department at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung, has been honored with the BIR Medal for Outstanding International Achievement. The award ceremony recently took place during the Annual Radiotherapy and Oncology Meeting of the British Institute of Radiology in London.
