Management Group Biographies
Daniel McGowan is Head of Research and Education (Consultant Clinical Scientist) within the Department of Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering at Oxford University Hospitals NHS FT and a Medical Physics Expert and Radioactive Waste Adviser to the Trust. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncology, University of Oxford with a clinical academic research group focused on nuclear medicine/PET imaging and theranostics. He is course director for Oxford's MSc in Medical Physics with Radiobiology. .
Amy Eccles is a Consultant Radiologist based in the Nuclear Medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Her specialist interests include conventional radionuclide and hybrid imaging (SPECT and PET/CT). Amy is the Educational Lead in the Nuclear Medicine Department at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ and is a member of the ESMIT working group. She is also actively involved in the MSc Nuclear Medicine Course (King’s College London) as a personal tutor.
Chen Sheng Low is a final year radiology trainee within the Birmingham training scheme. He previously completed his nuclear medicine training in Birmingham and has a CCT in Nuclear Medicine from 2012. He has also completed the MSc in Nuclear Medicine. Chen is currently doing a part-time MD research in nuclear medicine with the University of Warwick.
Conor Ferris graduated from Durham University (Physics MSci ) before teaching science, gaining a PGCE from the University of Cambridge. He returned to study, obtaining an MSc in Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering from the University of Sheffield. He initial trained as a clinical scientist in London before moving to Oxford to complete his higher training before working there. He currently works in Belfast as the Principle Clinical Scientist in Radioisotopes at the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre. While based in Belfast his work takes him to hospitals across Northern Ireland. Conor is interested in both diagnostic and therapy applications as well as involved in staff education and training. He was a member of the IPEM NMSIG (2012-2016), chairing the SIG from 2014-2016. He is currently a member of the British Standards Institute expert panel on “Radiation protection and measurement”
